Malden to Offer Curbside Pickup of Christmas Trees

Find out when the DPW will be picking up Christmas trees in Malden.

[Editor's note: The following story first appeared on Malden Patch on Dec. 18.]

Malden will provide curbside pickup of Christmas trees in early January 2014, according to a city press statement.

The city will collect trees between Jan. 6-10, according to the statement. Trees should be placed curbside on your regular trash day, the statement adds.

"As the trees will be recycled for composting and will be put through a chipping machine, they must be free of decorations, garland, tinsel, wire and cannot be placed in a plastic bag," reads the statement.

Maldonians can also bring trees to the DPW Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., or Saturday 8 a.m. to noon, according to the statement. No wreaths will be picked up, adds the statement.
