Movie Night At The Malden Public Library
Join us for Movie Night at the Malden Public Library on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at 6:00-8:30pm for part of our Adult Summer Reading Program. The movie is based on The New York Times bestseller, Labor Day, by Joyce Maynard. One critic refers to the book as a “sexy page-turning, poignant story…[where] Joyce Maynard is at her finest.”
As the Labor Day weekend approaches in a small New Hampshire town, a stranger arrives with a terrible secret that irrevocably changes the lives of the Wheeler family on a hazy, hot summer day. Don’t miss this guilty pleasure movie of love, betrayal, and forgiveness. Richard Roeper of The Chicago Sun Times, describes it as “…Great acting, graceful storytelling, plus pie.” The movie stars Kate Winslet and Josh Brolin. Rated PG-13 (111 min.)
Filmed locally in Acton, Shelburne Falls, Sutton, Belchertown, Mansfield, Natick, Medfield, and Medway, Massachusetts and at Canobie Lake in Salem, New Hampshire, The New York Post calls the movie “(a) small-scale gem.”
