REDEDICATION CEREMONY Malden to rededicate Linden memorial monuments

A rededication ceremony will be held for the Linden Victory Delta and

Veterans Monuments in Malden this week.

On Thursday, August 15, 2013 at 3:00 PM, there will be a re-dedication ceremony of the Linden Victory Delta and Veterans’ Monuments at the Linden Victory Delta, on Hunting Street directly across from the Linden School. The City of Malden and Ward 8 Councillor Judy Bucci initiated the task of restoring and improving the Delta in a tribute to honor Malden’s veterans.

The Linden Victory Delta contains monuments to Malden’s Fallen Heroes of the Korean and Vietnam Wars and is located across the street from the Linden School and Park and is wedged between Salem and Hunting Streets. The newly-installed patriotic banners at the Linden Victory Delta, just opposite the Linden Elementary School, have drawn rave reviews from motorists and other passersby. Ward 8 City Councillor Judi Bucci ordered the banners as part of the larger City-funded improvement project at the Delta and Linden Park.  The Malden Redevelopment Authority oversaw the improvement project for the Linden Victory Delta and Park on behalf of the City.  The project included new period lighting, new and refurbished play equipment and field upgrades in the Park.

A rededication will be held Thursday, Aug. 15 at 3 p.m.
