Fashion Week in Malden beats New York or Boston!

Fashion week in New York is now history and Boston Fashion Week is just beginning.  However, Malden, had its own fashion week with the first annual Fashion With a Purpose! fundraiser. 

Fashion With a Purpose! fashion show  on Sunday, September 18th at the Malden Senior Center.  All proceeds from the event went to support the programs and services of Tailored For Success, Inc.  Community models (a/k/a nonprofessional models) strutted down the runway in clothing that came from Tailored Impressions, A Resale Boutique that is a social enterprise project of Tailored For Success; CAbi (an online retailer) and Proxy Apparel (a sustainable fashion company). 

The success of Fashion With a Purpose! was due to the help of many individuals. There is not enough space to list them all but the models could not have walked the catwalk without the great music courtesy of DJ Nomadik - played by DJ Rugged One.    Hungry guests were treated to a delicious buffet of appetizers catered by Sharon Jacobson Strum, of It's Copacetic, Everything's Jake. 

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who volunteered, sponsored or attended the event.  The community support was incredible and we hope to make Fashion With a Purpose! an annual event.
