YAPA: When is the New Last Day of School?
In this week's You Ask, Patch Answers, we look into how recent snowdays will affect the last day of the 2013 school year.
Q: After multiple snow days earlier this month, when will Malden Public Schools close this year?
A. To answer this question, we went to school board member Adam Weldai.
"Nothing's changed yet," he wrote via email. "We usually build five snow days (in)to the calendar, and right now we've used our five! Two for hurricane and three for snow. The added benefit of starting before Labor Day though, is it helps keep June dismissal early even with the extra days."

Should the district exceed the five pre-programmed snowdays, the school year will continue one day per cancellation.
