WEEK IN REVIEW: Bank Robbery, New Fields

Here are our top stories from last week.

Maplewood Square Citizens Bank Robbed Thursday: Both the Malden Police and FBI are investigating a bank robbery at the Citizens Bank on Lebanon St. Thursday afternoon, a detective has confirmed. 

A male suspect reportedly passed a note with demands around 1:20 p.m. and then fled in the direction of Hartshorn Ave. and the Mystic Valley Regional Charter School, according to police scanner reports. 

Mystic Valley Cuts Ribbon at New Athletic Field: A group of local elected officials joined members of Mystic Valley’s Board of Trustees and a large number of Mystic Valley students, alumni and parents to celebrate the opening of the school’s new athletic field on Eastern Avenue.

 Thanksgiving got a lot happier on Wednesday November 21 thanks to the Salvation Army and the support of the community. Volunteers were handing out boxes with turkeys and all the other fixings for a good Thanksgiving dinner. In particular there was a group of Eighth graders from the Ferryway School that were helping people pick out fresh vegetables and bring boxes and turkeys to their vehicles.
