Here are our top stories from last week.

Maplewood Square Citizens Bank Robbed Thursday: Both the Malden Police and FBI are investigating a bank robbery at the Citizens Bank on Lebanon St. Thursday afternoon, a detective has confirmed.

A male suspect reportedly passed a note with demands around 1:20 p.m. and then fled in the direction of Hartshorn Ave. and the Mystic Valley Regional Charter School, according to police scanner reports.

Mystic Valley Cuts Ribbon at New Athletic Field: A group of local elected officials joined members of Mystic Valley’s Board of Trustees and a large number of Mystic Valley students, alumni and parents to celebrate the opening of the school’s new athletic field on Eastern Avenue.

Thanksgiving got a lot happier on Wednesday November 21 thanks to the Salvation Army and the support of the community. Volunteers were handing out boxes with turkeys and all the other fixings for a good Thanksgiving dinner. In particular there was a group of Eighth graders from the Ferryway School that were helping people pick out fresh vegetables and bring boxes and turkeys to their vehicles.

The Winner of our Facebook Photo Contest: We asked, and you delivered: readers submitted eight photos of Malden for our Facebook photo contest, and the results are in.

Reader Kelly Coursey Paquet's photo of a younger resident playing in Bell Rock Cemetery received 19 votes, and will receive both a $50 gift card and the honor of having her photo grace the Malden Patch Facebook page.
