1. : The city issued a statement earlier that month regarding a series of shootings, arrests and robberies made in the city. Some crimes continue to be investigated. 

2. Malden Election Results 2012: Turnout Just Under 70%: It feels like ages ago, but check out the local numbers for the 2012 Presidential Election in our election round-up article. 

3. Shooting Reported at Harvard St. Park: Malden Police have confirmed a shooting occurred near Harvard Park late Sunday morning, though no injuries were reported. The shooting is the city's seventh since August.

4. Maplewood Square Citizens Bank Robbed Thursday: Both the Malden Police and FBI are investigating a bank robbery at the Citizens Bank on Lebanon St. A male suspect reportedly passed a note with demands around 1:20 p.m. and then fled in the direction of Hartshorn Ave. and the Mystic Valley Regional Charter School, according to police scanner reports. 

5. Busy Weekend for Malden Police: The Malden Police Department had a busy weekend last November: Beyond the reported shooting near Harvard St. Park Sunday morning, officers also responded to a serious stabbing on Lisbon St. and an alleged gun threat made at a Bryant St. party.

6. Emerson School Purchase Moves Forward: The purchase of Emerson School by the Mystic Valley Regional Charter School took another step forward Tuesday night, when the city's public property committee approved moving forward with the deal. The sale was later approved by the council. 

7. City Asks Readers to Take Survey on Blue Bags: Mayor Gary Christenson assembled a volunteer group of Malden residents to examine Malden’s waste disposal process and the Pay-As-You-Throw (PAYT) program. A survey of nine questions has been prepared that will aid the group in its report and recommendations. 

8. Malden Hostess Outlet Sells at Liquidated Prices: Hostess fans raided the shelves at the former Hostess Outlet in Malden last month, upon news of the company's bankruptcy and liquidation.
