Lieutenant: Investigation Not Focused on Potential Fourth Suspect

Lt. Kevin Molis told residents during the Ward 8 crime meeting that investigators have not "totally ruled out" the possibility, but that their efforts are now focused on building a criminal case against three suspects arrested Friday.

Comments made by a Malden Police Lieutenant during a Ward 8 community crime meeting at Monday suggest investigators may be close to abandoning a theory that an additional, fourth suspect eluded police during an extensive manhunt Friday.

Officers , though a preliminary report from a Saugus Police officer identified four suspects in the suspect's getaway car as it spend down Route 1. 

“The investigation at this point continues, but I believe it continues more along the lines of , and exhausting any and all leads to the involvement of anyone else,” Lt. Kevin Molis said to a resident's question about the potential fourth suspect.

“It's not...to say totally ruled out, but (the investigation is) now in the follow-up stage, in my opinion,” he added.
