Malden High Hall of Fame nomination deadline 1/24/14

Malden High School graduates and the Malden community are urged to submit by Jan. 24, 2014, their nominations for the first members to be inducted into the newly established MHS Hall of Fame.

The inaugural Hall of Fame dinner and celebration will be held May 2, 2014, at Anthony’s Restaurant, Malden, Ma.

The Hall of Fame was founded by the MHS Alumni Association to celebrate exceptional accomplishments of alumni and contributions to the school community by alumni and others.

The MHSAA said alumni become eligible for nomination 10 years after graduation in categories such as the arts, business, community service, education, government service, the law, military service, the media and sciences including medicine. MHS sports has its own Hall of Fame.

Those in the Malden community who believe that someone they know, or know of, should be honored with a place in the Hall are asked to make their nominations no later than Jan. 24.

A special committee will then review the submissions and make selections. All nominees not chosen this year will remain in consideration for future selection.

Eventually, plaques commemorating Hall of Fame inductees will be displayed in Malden High.
