Meet the Food Trucks: Fugu Truck

This is part three of a series featuring three of the mobile food trucks that park in Malden Center.

By Gina Curreri

Patch spoke with Bing Liu, owner of the Fugu Truck, which currently parks in Malden one night a week. Some items the truck sells are pork steamed buns with either BBQ pulled pork or braised pork belly, Korean BBQ beef tacos and cold peanut or sesame noodles. You can view the entire menu here.

We have a few loyal customers that come every week. Other than that, we have the commuters who come down from the train, and that’s been going okay. It has picked up since the first week.

Will you be there the full season?

We’re not sure yet. We’re still constantly adjusting our schedule, but it’s very close to where our kitchen is great. It’s very easy for us to take the truck down to Malden station. We share a kitchen with a couple of other trucks.

Are your Malden customers people who are familiar with Fugu, or are a lot of them first-timers?

I’d say half and half.
