A Malden couple recently discovered they'd won much more than the $50,000 on a scratch ticket bought in Dorchester, according to a Boston Globe report.

Jeremy Lockett was under the impression he'd be receiving $50,000 when he went to the Massachusetts State Lottery Headquarters to pick up his winnings. However, the prize was actually $50,000 each year for life.

"They went nuts," Massachusetts State Lottery spokeswoman Beth Bresnahan told the newspaper. Lockett and his wife Rabina immediately started dancing around the lobby, Bresnahan told the Globe.

The couple won on a $20 "Lifetime Spectacular" scratch ticket. Based on the prize’s guaranteed minimum 20-year payout, he will receive $650,000 after taxes, reads the report.
