Biryani Park Closes in Malden

Biryank Park, a restaurant known for Sri Lankan and South Indian cuisine, has closed in Malden.

Biryank Park, a restaurant known for their Sri Lankan and South Indian cuisine, has closed in Malden, according to a notice posted to the front door at the establishment.

"Dear Biryani Park customers, The Biryani Park restaurant in Malden has closed. We are looking for a new location and hope to reopen soon," reads the notice.

"We want to thank all of our regular customers for your support over the years. It has truly been a joy serving you our unique blend of South Indian and Sri Lankan foods. We will miss you while we are closed and look forward to serving you again in the future," continues the message.

The message concluded by asking customers interested in the restaurant's future to follow their plans on the Biryani Park website before wishing them a happy New Year.

Biryani Park, which opened in 2011 and operated at 105 Broadway, offered a variety of services to customers, including taking reservations, walk-ins, take out, delivery, catering and waiter service, according to the restaurant's Facebook page.

Ninety percent of the menu was gluten-free, and the restaurant also served organic Halal meat and vegan dishes, according to their website.

No one was at the restaurant when Malden Patch visited the establishment Monday afternoon, and a food truck and shuttle owned by the business were parked in the lot. Attempts to reach the business by phone were unsuccessful.

It's unclear when, and why, Biryani Park closed.
