Wednesday Evening Gatherings at First Parish

The First Parish in Malden will begin a series of Wednesday evening small group learning gatherings starting in October. Each series will meet once per month from October through May. Sessions run from 7-9:30 p.m. All are welcome.

First Wednesdays (begins October 3): Evensong, a series of eight evening worship gatherings. October Session – Beginning Together. A small group program designed to help participants make lasting connections with one another. Each gathering includes singing, readings and discussion. Participants are invited to share thoughts, experiences, doubts and beliefs. Called “an uplifting antidote to our overtalk” and a way “to quiet our chattering minds.” Led by Rev. Joanne Giannino

Second Wednesdays (begins October 10): Crafting in Fellowship, a series of eight fun get-togethers. October Project – Ukranian Egg Decorating. Bring one of your own projects and/or learn a new craft. Drop-ins welcome! Led by Gweneth McKinney.

Third Wednesdays (begins October 17): Living By Heart, a series of eight gatherings. October Session – The Attentive Heart: Waiting. Based on a DVD and workbook developed by Laurel Hallman and Harry Scholefield, this workshop series offers a way for people to develop a meditative practice with poetry.
