Waitts Mountain Cleanup a Success

Ward 4 Councilor Jim Nestor & the Tufts University Mountain Club cleaned the park this weekend.

The following was submitted by Councillor Jim Nestor: 

Last Saturday Ward 4 Councilor Jim Nestor & the Tufts University Mountain Club conducted a fall cleanup of Waitts Mount. The Tufts Mountain Club sent 25 members to help clean the summit of the park. 

"I would like to thank the Tufts Mount Club for turning out to help clean Waitts Mount Park" said Councilor Nestor.

"It was fantastic to hear their stories about climbing the main wall on the right hand side of the park as well as how much they love being able to climb at the park. They did a great job and are excited about the renovations to the park.  

"They are one of a number of groups that have heard about the renovations and have contacted me concerning ways to help bring the park back to its former glory. A great number of people are looking forward to next fall when we celebrate the opening of the renovated park."

The Tufts Mountain Club is an organization dedicated to bringing the Tufts community outside and is one of the largest student groups on campus. Trips are organized every weekend to go climbing, kayaking, hiking and more throughout New England.
