Salvation Army Teams Up with MHS Athletes

The teams provided meals for 244 families this holiday season.

When Catherine Murray read on Facebook that The Salvation Army in Malden did not have enough turkeys for families in need this past Thanksgiving, she did something about it.

She worked to recruit Malden High Athletic teams, cheerleaders and coaching staff to raise money to not only buy more turkeys, but to help with the Christmas toy effort.

Through these efforts, meals were provided for 244 families and 50 gift cards were purchased for children who would not have otherwise had any gifts on Christmas.
