After nearly three decades serving Sacred Hearts Parish in Malden, Father Daniel Hickey retired following a Sunday service in late August, according to a city press statement.

Following an Aug. 25 service, Hickey said farewell to his congregation during mass which was attended by Mayor Gary Christenson, Police Chief Kevin Molis and Fire Chief Jack Colangeli. Father Hickey served as pastor of Sacred Hearts Parish for 28 years, and he also oversaw operations at Cheverus School.
