Megan Lawler decides to run for Ward 3 School Committee in November 2013 elections.

MALDEN, MA – Life long Malden resident Megan Lawler has decided to run for School Committee for Ward 3 in the November 2013 elections. Megan is currently an Admissions Counselor for the School of Education at Cambridge College, in Cambridge as well as part-time worker in customer service for over 11 years. She was formerly an Academic Advisor and English Tutor at Bunker Hill Community College. Megan has always aspired to one day be a voice for the Malden public schools and confidently feels that now is her time to get involved.

Megan is a product of the Malden Public Schools. She first attended the Emerson Elementary School, then moved on to Malden Middle School, and finally became a Malden High School graduate, and the Historian of her class, in 2003. Megan had often dreamed of becoming a member of the Malden School Committee. “I have always wanted to be able to advocate for all of the teachers, parents, and children in our schools, since they all hold the keys to our future.” Megan has been an active member in the community and wants to contribute her expertise to the school department.

 

With a strong background in education, Megan feels she can bring a unique perspective to the School Committee. Along with her experience, Megan’s educational background has provided her with an excellent foundation that will make her an asset to the committee. Megan has a B.A. in English from the University of Massachusetts at Boston, and is currently a candidate for a Master’s in Education degree in Counseling Psychology at Cambridge College. She hopes to contribute her academic knowledge, professional experience, and understanding of the Malden Public Schools to the school district for the betterment of the students and families.
