So it would seem that Malden Patch is going the way of the Dodo.
I can not for one second comprehend the logic behind the impending closing of this site, nor the unceremonious sacking of Chris Caesar. I seriously relied on this site for information about what was going on around Malden.
The people who should really be sacked, and by sacked I mean they should be hit on top of the head with a sack full of quarters, are the people who thought up and executed this silly Patch 2.0 site. That's what really killed the participation here, and any suit who looks at metrics cannot ignore that.
I for one would like to say that Malden Patch has afforded me a lot of opportunities and relationships with people that I didn't have when I moved here in May 2010. I'm thankful for the friendships and connections I've made through this site.
Thanks AOL/Tim Armstrong for killing a good local community site - Patch: From Hyperlocal to Hyper-irrelevant.
