As a community organizer, I have been a MassVOTE volunteer doing voters registration since 2007. I was elected as chairwoman of a Board of Trustees for a Homeowners’ Association from 2010 to 2012.  I am running for the Malden School Committee seat with experiences of more than 20 years of local activism. My objective now is to focus my energy to support our children and parents of Ward 3 in Malden and to represent the Malden Public Schools.

I have heard over and over again that it is not easy to be a teacher. My goal as a school committee member is to work toward improving school performance and supporting a workforce aided by administrators, the city, and its own representation.

My two children graduated from the public school system.  I believe in public school education. For public education, we are less different, we learn from materials that are trustily presented, we learn social skills to interact and in preparing our children to become well-rounded adults.

I graduated from the Taiwan Catholics Girls High and studied one year of English at Newton North High School before earning my B.A. in public communication from University of Massachusetts, Amherst. I also hold a graduate management certificate from Radcliffe College in Cambridge. I am married to Mr. Cameron Nichols Porter and celebrated our 20 years anniversary this year.

Thank you for all your support. I will offer my assistance at cport2007@gmail.com, or at 781-321-8337.
