Malden's Inaugural Latin Festival Kicks Off Friday Night

Here are five things to know for Friday, Sept. 13 in Malden:

1. Latin fest: Malden's inaugural Latin Festival is slated for 6-10 p.m. Friday at Malden Government Center, according to an event posting on Malden Patch.

2. Senior programs: Take a look at what activities are set for Friday at the Malden Senior Center, according to the senior center newsletter for September:

8 a.m.: FL-ABS
8:30 a.m.: Aerobics 
9 a.m.: English to Mandarin 
9:30 a.m.: Chair exercise 
9:30 a.m.: Cribbage 
9:30 a.m.: Knitting, crocheting lessons 
10 a.m.: Sen. Katherine Clark visit
10 a.m.: Billiard (pool) 
10 a.m.: Bridge 
10:45 a.m.: Combo Zumba/yoga dance

3. Community event: There will be a Spirit of Triangle Cookout Carnival from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday at Triangle, according to the Malden Chamber of Commerce website.

4. In case you missed it: A ceremony honoring a fallen Malden Police officer will take place at 6 p.m. Sept. 16 at the delta across from 347 Pleasant St.

5. Yard sales: Check out where there will be yard sales in the Malden region this weekend.
