City Looking for Groups to Lease Roosevelt Park

The park, for the most part, will remain available to local sports groups throughout the year.

Below is the City of Malden’s Request for Proposals for Roosevelt Park.

The city is looking for an organization or organizations to sign a long-term lease agreement for use of the park. Despite this, the park, for the most part, will remain open to local sports groups throughout the year, according to the city.

Proposals are due at noon Monday, March 31.

The Request for Proposals:

The City of Malden, acting by and through the Malden Redevelopment Authority, is seeking proposals from entities interested in entering into a long term lease arrangement for use of Roosevelt Park by interested groups.

The City of Malden is undertaking extensive renovations to Roosevelt Park which will allow this park to accommodate expanded sports uses including but not limited to baseball, softball, soccer, lacrosse and football practice. The City is seeking proposals from interested parties who wish to secure on a long term basis, use of the park which will be memorialized in a lease agreement.

The above-mentioned park is a public park belonging to the City and will remain, for the most part, available for use by local sports groups and entities throughout the year. However, the City will consider setting aside permitted time for specific users if it is deemed in the best interests of the City to do so.

Responses to this public solicitation should be in the form of a written offer stating the name of the organization making the proposal, its place of business, the days of the week and the time each day for which the entity is requesting a permit, the proposed sports for which the field is to be used, the timeframe requested (number of years) and the amount of compensation offered in return for the allotted, permitted time.

Proposals should be submitted to Deborah A. Burke, Executive Director, Malden Redevelopment Authority, 200 Pleasant Street, Malden, MA  02148 no later than Monday, March 31, 2014 at 12:00 noon.  Any questions regarding this solicitation should be directed to Deborah A.
