The Malden Public Library is located across the street from Malden High School. The library has been in operation since 1879 and provides a large numbers of books, magazines, reference and historical materials. The Local History Collection, Historical Society Collection and art galleries can be found to the left when entering the building.
The main part of the library is located to the right when you enter the building. The Main Level has new books, magazines, newspapers, reference materials, DVDs, CDs and some non-fiction. The Lower Level has more non-fiction titles as well as foreign language books. The Upper Level has mystery books, a quiet study room, children's room, children's program room and hosts the administrative and general offices.
The Malden Public Library is part of the Metro Boston Library Network so your card is good at all participating libraries. You can even request books available at other libraries to be delivered to the Malden library.
The library offers Internet and word processing on its computers and it holds book discussion books from time to time. Check the bulletin board for upcoming events or surf the Web site.
