The Malden Public Schools, in conjunction with the Partnership for Community Schools in Malden, will host Parent University on May 19 from 8:30 to 12:00 noon at the Salemwood School.
Parent University will open with a welcoming address from Malden's Superintendent of Schools - Dr. David DeRuosi, Jr. We will then offer three informational workshops on nutrition, exercise, and school health.
In addition we will host an informational health fairwith representations from many organizations in Malden, including Mayor Christenson's office, Malden Public Schools, Cambridge Health Alliance, Hallmark Health, Malden Police Department, Tri-CAP, Inc., North Suburban WIC Program, Immigrant Learning Center, Malden Board of Health, Arbour Counseling Services, and Tufts University Dental Schools.
We enourage all Malden families with students in grades K to eight to attend and gather valuable information as they work to help their children succeed.

More About Salemwood School
The Salemwood elementary school is located just down the road from Malden High School. The school educates around 1200 students serving grades K through eight and has over 100 staff members. It has a special education program for students with special needs as well as programs for Sheltered English Immersion students.
The Salemwood School also provides after school programs for children. It has Citizen School, which offers participating students hands-on apprenticeships, community explorations and homework investment time. It also has an active arts program in which children can participate in productions such as "Annie."
