Community Dinner at Moroccan Hospitality Restaurant
The next in the series of “Malden Eats Community Dinners” will be held at the Moroccan Hospitality Restaurant on 188 Salem St. The price is $15 (plus tax & tip, does not include drinks). Come join your fellow Maldonians to learn about and enjoy Moroccan food!
According to one Yelp reviewer, Moroccan Hospitality proprietors and sisters, Amina & Nouzha Ghalley, “treat you like a member of the family.” Moroccan cooking is influenced by its diverse North African and nearby European cultures (Berber, Arab, African, and Spanish) and is sure to please a wide range of tastes. With dishes ranging from surprisingly simple to intriguingly complex, Moroccan recipes combine fresh, Mediterranean ingredients with a deft and restrained use of spices and flavors, such as dried fruits, orange blossom water, lemon, coriander, turmeric and saffron. Typically, ingredients are cooked together slowly in a tagine, an earthenware pot with a flat bottom and a domed lid, and served with couscous, a light and fluffy, small, round pasta sometimes mixed with nuts or diced vegetables. Come savor this sumptuous, centuries-old cuisine.
In keeping with the themes of this year’s Malden Reads book selections, the “Malden Eats Community Dinner Series” invites you to learn about the diverse cultures in our community through eating and sharing a meal together. The meal will be preceded by an introduction to Moroccan food by the owner of Moroccan Hospitality. To reserve your space, please call 781-605-0520 and make sure to specify that you are with the “Malden Reads” event. Space is limited at this small restaurant, so please be sure to make your reservation soon.
