I'm hoping to drive my old beater into the ground before we need to get another car, but I'm on the lookout. What's your next car going to be?
My wife and I drive a perfectly good 2002 Nissan Sentra with 127,318 miles on it. "Stella" has four wheels and gets us from Point A to Point B. We've reached the stage in the life of the car where we don't repair body damage (as you can tell from the accompanying photo). I'm ashamed for my Dad to see it. But hey, it's paid for. Even though I'd love to get 200K miles out of Stella, she has some mechanical problems, like a seized bolt that has left the transmission fluid unchangeable for about eight years. She could conk out any old day. So we've been on the lookout for our next car. I'm paying attention to car commercials, asking friends about their cars. You know the feeling. We're looking for something that gets good gas mileage, and is…

Results from a recent executive survey ranked Massachusetts 47th for business.
A CEO magazine ranks Massachusetts as one of the worst states in the nation for business. Chief Executive Magazine ranked Massachusetts 47th based on a survey of corporate leaders. Survey respondents reported the Bay State is one of the worst for taxation and regulation. The state Republican Party is pointing to the survey and saying that Gov. Deval Patrick and the Democratic-led Legislature are bad for the economy and business. What do you think about Massachusetts’ business climate? Is this a good state in which to do business?

Here are five high-performance vehicles for sale in the area.
Sports cars and the people who drive them have taken a bit of a beating in popular culture these last few years. Movie geeks look at a hood scoop and drawl "I live my life a quarter mile at a time" in their deepest Vin Diesel voice. Cynics hear the growl of a high-end exhaust and draw anatomical conclusions about the owner. But all the ribbing doesn't change one fact: High-performance cars are wicked fun to drive. Big block beast, small block tuner, or high-end euro ride, the power and handling can't be matched by an efficient Prius or sensible minivan. Here are five local cars for sale that will give you the growl, grip and go that (deep down inside) you really want: 2014 Ford Mustang, $26,849: When introduced in the 1960's, the Ford …

It was the SRT8! I mean, don't get me wrong, it was a great car, but to me the Mustang's got the edge.   more ›
The popular Davis Square hot spot will come to 333 Commercial Street this August, with plans to operate a nanobrewery, beer garden and catering services.
A popular Somerville BBQ spot will be opening a new location in Malden, the city has confirmed. Redbones will bring a full bar, complete with its beer and bourbon list, to 333 Commercial St., the present location of Rosebud Farms. Owners Robert Gregory and Caryn Whitney said they had plans to open an on-site nanobrewery, offer outside dining and operate catering services on the site, in addition to the restaurant's existing BBQ and drink menus. City officials joined Gregory and Whitney as they offered free samples to passersby near Malden Center Monday afternoon. "Many of the young people that have been working for us over the years ...were moving to Malden," Gregory told reporters. "We came to realize, 'wow, this is a good community,' …
