Mystic Valley Baseball Splits Games
Mystic Valley’s baseball team beat Pope John by a score of 8-6 on Monday afternoon. Joey Foley picked up the win pitching 5 strong innings allowing 0 runs, 2 hits, and striking out 13!! The Eagles were able to jump out to an 8-0 lead early on and held off Pope John as they put together a few runs in the later innings.
The Eagles lost to Shawsheen Thursday by a score of 4-0. They struggled offensively leaving runners on base and failing to deliver any timely hitting in situations where they were threatening. The defense struggled as well committing a few costly mistakes which ultimately led to 3 of the 4 Shawsheen runs. Senior Patrick Holden pitched a complete game giving up only 1 earned run for the Eagles. The loss drops Mystic Valley to 7-4 overall and 3-3 in the CAC.
