TO WHOM IN MAY CONCERN:
We expect our Ward 3 and 4 councillors to attend and give the citizens residing in their wards support and advice.
Tenants do have rights, even though it seems that the rights of landlords are more widely known. Having a safe and secure home is an essential part of conducting a happy and productive life. But too many tenants live in hazardous or insecure conditions, because they don’t know their rights. Knowledge is power!
There are plenty of resources out there to help people become more knowledgeable about how to access a better life for themselves and their families. Don’t be afraid or too proud to seek assistance! Don’t be afraid to talk to your neighbors -- maybe you can help each other. Safe, affordable housing is your right. Know your rights.
We have had a protest at the court house in Malden 8/3/2012 (Malden Tenants United) with the next one scheduled for 8/9/2012 Thusrday 815am.
We are meeting Sunday for details August 5th 700PM at 349 Pleasant Street Grounds.
It would be of great productive and in the interest of the City of Malden is we get the support of the City elected officials and see what ourmembership needs to resolve the issues though negotiation not eviction and tenants moving out of Malden.
