JV Basketball Beats Matignon
The Mystic Valley junior varsity basketball team held off a late rally fueled by three pointers to pull out a 45-40 win over Matignon. The teams played even for the first quarter but the Eagles were able to open up the 2nd quarter with an 8-0 run and didn’t look back from there. The Eagles maintained their lead until the final moments when Matignon hit a few three pointers to make the game close but Mystic Valley was able to shut the door on defense and preserve their win.
Kerby Clerger led the team with 9 points. Jordan Tirrell and Therence Bien-Aime had 10 rebounds a piece.
The varsity played after the jv and lost 53-49.
