The Angel Baseball Giants 19-U team soared past Beverly last evening 7-2 to advance to the semi-final round of the LTA Tournament. A strong pitching performance from Nicky Powers, great team effort at the plate and strong team defense were the keys to victory.

Powers went 6 strong innings giving up just 2 runs to a good hitting beverly team. Hits by Jake Crowley, Jovan Henriquez, Hector Nunez, Nicky Powers, Joe Talent, Jamel Vilamont and Marc Woodman got the giants out to a 5-0 lead.

The Beverly team spent most of the night trying to catch up to Powers. Crowley came in to close the game out in the 7th inning. Crowley ended a potential threat with a pickoff of a Beverly runner at 1st base.

With the victory the Giants advance to the semi-final round on Saturday against the winner of Beverely/Maynard. The semi final & final rounds will be hosted by Beverely at Cooney field. Time and opponent to be announced friday evening.
