The Angel baseball Giants quest for a championship has come to an end.
In Saturday's semi-final game against the South End Astros the Giants fell 4-3. It was a hard fought battle in which the Giants led 3-1 after 3 innings.
In the 4th the Astros threatened with runners on 1st and 3rd with no outs.
A sinking line drive in the hole at 2nd base which Jonathan Hughes grabbed before it hit the ground turned into a triple play when he threw to get the runner out at first and ended with getting the 3rd base runner out. That was by far the highlight of the game.
The Giants tried to mount a rally, but couldn't get anything going. Overall a very good 1st season in the LTA.
Thank you to all who supported the Giants throughout the year!!! Up next for the Giants is potentially the Triple Crown tournament in Connecticut. Stay tuned.
