Malden's Angel Baseball Giants opened their season on Saturday with a 7-2 win over the Boston Broncos.

On the mound to start the season opener was Kevin Ortiz who pitched 5 2/3 innings giving up just 2 runs. Isaac Coehlo came in to get the final out in the 6th inning and mow the Broncos down in the 7th.

The Giants had a strong team effort offensively getting hits from: Isaac Coehlo, Devon Laudadio, Nick Andreucci, Jovan Henriquez, Ron Luke, Nick Crowe and Carlos Aquino.

A shout out to Dimitri Kapotis for eating dirt on 2 head first slides into first and home in the 7th inning! Defensively the Giants were flawless. The Giants are playing in a wood bat league which consist of 7 regular season games with the top 3 teams advancing to the playoffs.

Next up for the Giants are the Boston Astros on Wed evening at 7pm at English High in Jamaica Plain. We are trying to get a permit for a field to be able to host a couple of games. Stay tuned!!
