Each week until the end of the year, Patch is running a shopping tip contest.

All you need to do is offer a shopping tip in the comment section below and we’ll pick a winner at random each week.

Shopping tips can include sales or deals on anything: from supermarket bargains to sales on holiday gift items. And although we hope to find out about sales at local small businesses, large chain store deals are fine too.

Each week, we’ll announce a new winner, as well as list all of the great deals that were submitted to help you with your shopping.

For this week’s contest, all entries must be received by noon on Thursday, Dec. 15 (Eastern Time). This week’s prize: A $25 gift certificate to Exchange Street Bistro in Malden.

Please note: This contest is open to legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia who are 18 and older. You may enter as many times as you like. All winners will be selected in a random drawing.  Click here for complete Official Rules.

(This contest and article are being shared on the following Patch sites: South End, Back Bay, Beacon Hill, Charlestown, Somerville and Malden.)

I like to do a Holiday craft at my children's school. I went to the Dollar Store and for under $10.00 was able to help my children's friends create beautiful bells for their Christmas trees. I was happy at the cost, they were happy to create something on their own.

Great gifts at LA Burdick, a new gourmet chocolatier, in the Back Bay. I got a small box of chocolates as a gift from a colleague and I'm going to the store to get these delightful treats for others. Yum!

In Malden - Dockside buy $25 gift certificates, get $10 bonus
In Topsfield - Alfalfa Winery has a customer appreciation day on Saturday Dec 17 from 1-5pm, they offer discounts on volume purchases and sometimes have music and local crafters too, fun and relaxing way to pick up a few gifts for those who like wine.

Before you go to a store, just check online for coupons for said store. Going to Marshalls? Check "Marshalls coupons". Sometimes you get lucky, others not so much, but it's worth a shot!

Print coupons from your favorite restaurants before you head out so you've got a choice of where to stop for lunch. Buy gift cards and take advantage of the free $10 bonus gift card while sharing your favorite eateries with friends & family.
