Where Are Malden's Most Ignored Stop Signs?
Stop signs are not optional, but they're sometimes treated as if they are.
There are hundreds of stop signs in Malden, but all too often, they are overlooked when drivers are in a rush.
We have all seen it and probably many would admit of a stop sign roll-through at one point in time.
Do you know of a location where a stop sign is frequently rolled through or ignored? Share where it is in the comments section, below.

Dexter and Clifton. At night, people either quickly stop and then gun it down the rest of Clifton, or just ignore the stop sign outright. The 4-way sign creates a dangerous false sense of security for those walking or biking across Clifton St. It would be better to have a 2-way stop on Dexter and nothing on Clifton. Or stop on Dexter and yellow flashing lights on Clifton. Someone will get hit and killed one of these days if we stick with status quo.

How about the most ignored RED LIGHT! I would say that would have to be at the intersection of Main Street at Medford Street. I NEVER proceed thru that traffic light without FIRST checking to be sure a motor vehicle is not passing thru the light across Medford street while proceeding on Main Street - either heading east towards Everett or heading west towards Malden Center! EXTREMELY DANGEROUS intersection!

Just stay tuned for another eposode of "The Malden Shootout" same time same station..Probably be another this week. But back to the Stop sign many people treat them as Stop Through Traffic signs and just slow down and not do a compltet sto like your supposed too.

The latest story on the shooting is still on the homepage. Don't know how articles about other items in any way "hides" the shooting story.

Whose bright idea was it to put a stop sign on Salem st opp Brentwood??? Did the person who suggested, demanded, asked, put it in front of the traffic commission ever think of the ramifications of a stop sign at that location? Next thing you know, theyll put one in the middle of Rt 1! If the Ward councilor reads this PLEASE remove said stop sign before there is a bad accident. A slow sign would be a better idea. Jeez, just cause you can, doesn't mean you should.

Thanks Max, That makes sense now. The stop sign doesn't, it's not even before Brentwood st, its smack dab right at the center line of Brentwood on Salem. Brilliant!!!!! Chris C, you should look into this and get a photo of the sign and its location, and maybe find out who asked for it and the details of the traffic commission meeting, Isnt the Police and Fire Chief supposed to sign off on these things? What a waste of money!

The stop sign at merge of eastern ave ¢re st is ignored more than honored. A potential danger for an accident. Most cars slide thru instead of stop.roseann
