All three residents are safe and sound after a two-alarm fire at 54 Boylston St. Monday afternoon, the Malden Fire Department confirmed.
All of the inhabitants were away from the building when it sparked into flames just after noon Monday.
Update: Mayor Howard Candidate Finalist for Winchester Town Manager
Outgoing mayor Richard C. Howard is one of four finalists under consideration for a town manager position in Winchester, Winchester Patch reports.
The four-term mayor announced he would not be seeking re-election last November.
Malden Resident Helps Local Jobseekers Get Back On Their Feet
Ten years ago, Elizabeth Hart left a well-paying paralegal job in downtown Boston to pursue what she called the “perfect marriage” of her two life-long ambitions: to start a business, and give back to her community.
The Malden resident started “Tailored for Success,” a downtown-based non-profit organization helping economically disadvantaged women return to the workforce. Due to high demand, the group expanded to include men in 2008.
Malden Named 74th Most Walkable City in the Country
Based on data compiled by Walkscore.com, Malden ranks as the 74th most walkable city in the nation, nestled between Lawerence, Massachusetts and Peekskill, New York.
That rating includes all US cities with a population of at least 10,000 people. When excluding those with populations smaller than Malden's, the city jumps up to 31st place.
Malden Woman Injured in Medford Rollover Expected to Recover
A Malden woman who was injured in a rollover accident on Governors Avenue Thursday afternoon was discharged from the hospital later that night.
Youdelyne Simon, 21, was behind the wheel when her 1998 tan Toyota Avalon flipped onto the center median on Governors Avenue near Porter Road about 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
