Patch Video Battle of the Bands 2012 is here!
More than 20 bands from across Eastern Massachusetts submitted videos of original songs over the past two weeks to multiple area Patch sites in hopes of taking home the top prize.
First off is a regional round in which we pit bands and musicians from Greater Boston against one another. They will square off to win bragging rights in the area, a cool prize and a chance to go to the final round and win a rockstar prize pack!
The field for the Greater Boston round is strong with musical tastes ranging from rock to rock to pop to rap.
Voting for the regional round will run until noon on Friday, May 4. Please vote by telling us your choice in the comment section below the article. One vote per person per day please.
The winner of the this regional Greater Boston round will win two hours of recording time at Oak Grove Recording in Malden.
Those musicians, along with the second place finisher in this regional round, will then square off against the top two finishers from North Shore/Merrimack Valley and South Shore/Cape Cod and the Islands.
The winner of the final round will win a rockstar prize pack! The grand prize winner will headline a gig at The Harp in Boston, as well as receive a cut/color at Avanti Hair Salon, a party bus ride around Boston on Bustonian Party Bus and lunch at M.J. O'Connor's!

Start a section where multi-city comments are posted elsewhere. All of these comments are overshadowing the important articles, comments and concerns of what is happening within the Charlestown community. This new Patch format is horrible. Sara, not to hijack this thread, but there are residents of Charlestown trying to bring attention to the corruption going on by Jack Millericak who is at the helm of the Life Focus Center. If you’re not familiar with this story, Jack Millerick refuses to step aside after State Auditor Suzanne Bump found that he's been pilfering money from the LFC for his own personal use. Tens of thousands of dollars. Due to his greediness and unwillingness to step down, the DDS refuses to fund this program while he is at the helm. This means the doors will close directly because of Jack Millerick selfishness. The LFC board will not remove him, for reasons unknown. With all these rock band comments taking over the general comment section, residents that view the Charlestown Patch to see what’s being said within the community aren’t able to view our comments. Start a poll, that's all I'm saying. And again, the best of luck to all bands! G’day.

I have to agree with Joseph - I check the front page of Patch and check out the comments to see what is going on in Wakefield and, no disrepsect to the bands either, this clutters up the page and community comments fall so far down they are hard to find. I, too, wish this could be a poll so votes are not done in comments.
