VIDEO: Did We Catch Your Student with Gov. Patrick?
The governor spent time at Linden School Wednesday morning, reading a copy of "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus" and performing with a music therapy class.
Gov. Deval Patrick stopped by Linden School to announce $281,000 in "Innovation School" grants offered to 29 schools in the district, including a $10,000 award to Linden.
Principal Richard Bransfield said the money would be used to further explore ways to implement the STEAM - short for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics - curriculum at the school.
Before the event got too serious, though, the governor spent time with two classes: Ms. Degelmann's Kindergarten class, to whom the governor read "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus," and a music therapy class hosted by Laura Micheli, MT-BC, of the Melrose-based Roman Music Therapy.

"Did President Obama have to stand on a stool, or a step?" "No, he's just that much taller." Love it!

Thanks for sharing this video. Laura and I were honored to participate in the Governor's visit to the school. The kids really showed Governor Patrick how to rock with a maraca! Congrats to the Linden School and Principal Bransfield on this tremendous accomplishment!

No problem! Please get more politicians to shake a maraca on their armpit for my video needs.

Even though the Governor was not able to visit all the classes, I know my daughter was so proud that "her" school had a visit from an important person. Way to go Linden School!

Hey there. I saw some TV cameras there but I didn't catch which network. I think they only filmed the press conference, not the Governor meeting with kids.
