Ready for Veterans Day?

The city's annual holiday services will begin at 9 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 11 starting at 9 a.m. in front of the American Legion Post #69 at 368 Pleasant St.

The parade will begin at 10 a.m., marching east onto Pleasant St., turning left onto Summer St., then turning right and walking toward the end of Mountain Ave

The parade will continue onto Mt. Vernon St., and then to Salem St., where it will end near the High School and new Teen Enrichment Center.

The parade will pause at the 11th minute of the 11th hour, for a reflection of all of the nation's veterans. This is a nod to the armistice that ended World War I, which began on the "eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month" in 1918.

The Grand Marshal for this year’s parade will be Sam Cherone.

If you would like further information about the parade or have any questions, please call American Legion Commander Larry Clark at 781-324-8570.

It didn't give me the option to leave a caption! Anyway, that was taken when I went out in the first wave after 9/11.

Thanks for your service to our country, Phe. Hidden in all that gear, you are still "ONE GOOD LOOK'IN CHICK".
