Scruffy: An Affectionate Chihuahua Mix, Looking for a Home

Scruff is energetic but small, so he would do well in an apartment.

Meet Scruffy: 11 pounds of cute. Scruffy is a 2-year-old male Chihuahua mix who found his way to the Animal Rescue League of Boston from another rescue organization back in November. Scruffy is a little ball of energy, however due to his size he doesn’t need a large amount of exercise or space, so he would be a perfect apartment dog.

He is looking for an owner who doesn’t mind if he jumps up on the couch and snuggles next to you. He loves attention and will lean into you for more petting.

He is young so he still needs to be taught good manners and would require some training once he goes to his new home. He is a little fearful of new people but warms up very quickly. He also doesn’t like to share his food, so he would do best in a quiet home with people who are teenagers or older.

He goes out to our dog playgroups in the mornings and does well with other dogs that don’t bother him too much. He loves to walk around and do his own thing, but gets playful bursts of energy every once in a while. While there is potential for him to live in a home with another quiet dog, he would probably be happiest as an only dog.
