Public Hearing on Sewer Rates Planned for Tuesday

Residents will have the chance to sound off about rates for the next fiscal year.

 

The Public Works Commission will be holding a public meeting to set water and sewer rates for the next fiscal year.

The city employs a combined water and sewer rate model, which is based on usage.

The meeting will be held at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26 in room 325 at City Hall.

If you look at the back of your water bill you will see the rates:
if your consumption is between:
0-200 cubic feet you pay a min. bill of $8.
201-800 cubic feet you pay $7.80 per 100 cubic feet,
801-12000 cubic feet you pay $14.33 per 100 cubic feet
over 12000 is $17.09 per 100 cubic feet
Minimum charges are as follows :
up to a 1 inch meter $8,
1 1/2 inch meter $25,
2 inch meter $36,
3 inch meter $63,
4 inch meter $ 100,
6 inch meter $192
