5 Things: Possible Snow, City Petitions Against MBTA Cuts and More
5 things you need to know today, Friday, Feb. 10.
1. Is snow on the horizon?: Friday will be sunny with near steady temperatures in the upper 40s. Don't get too comfortable – there is a 50 per cent chance of snow Friday night, with lows around 30.
2. City petition: The mayor's office is asking residents to add their name to a petition against proposed MBTA cuts that could shut down as many as 12 bus lines in the city.
3. Family movie night: Bring your favorite finger food to the Family Movie Night at 6:00PM Friday at the Partnership for Community Schools in Malden. This week's movie is Cars 2.
4. Math Workshop for Ferryway Parents: Head to the Think Math Interactive Workshops for Parents at 7:45AM Tuesday in the Ferryway School for a chance to meet the math coaches for the Malden Public Schools and learn about your child's math program.

I would like to sign the petition. But.. it seems to be only one line long. Am I missing something? Is the mayor's office unable to make a stronger case by at least writing a few sentences detailing the proposed lines to be cut, the importance of public transit to our community, and the economic and social impacts of the cuts?
