Regardless it is another crime and more people hurt. They need to step up patrol around the city. I have a feeling that as much as I like the Baseball and Football teams entering Malden, it will bring increased crime. Both ate a great idea for the city to have low cost family fun nights, but it worries me. The Lincoln Commons is a dark aera not very well lit. Baseball bats are a deadly weapon just like the knives and guns. More patrol and sweeps.

I was told they were reportedly walking home near the park from another nearby residence.

I attended the Mayor's Safety meeting this past summer at the park there. Many neighbors complained about the crime in and around the park and said they were fed up with complaining as it seemed nothing was done there to better patrol the area. While I agree nothing good happens after midnight, no one should fear walking the streets at that time either. Maybe that area should now be considered a "hot spot" and receive the needed attention.

Wbat difference does the time make. the point is it is a violent crime and two people were hurt. Is it against tbe law to walk around at that time? I didnt get out if work until one the other night and walked from station .had I gotten robbed or raped youre saying it would be my fault for walkingthate late.

Heck no it's the times we live in. I used to ride my bike at 3:00 am in the morning but not now. My daughters are nurses and get out in the wee hours of the morning. Its being in a dark place at that time but I do agree with you.

Nothing good happening at that time of night. Yes we should all be able to walk wherever we want at whatever time we want but that has never been the case and a little common sense goes a long way. It is still wrong but got to be careful.

I bet these so called victims are no angels. I also bet that the people who attacked them are known to them. I beleive most of these violent crimes recently are groups who know each other who think violence is the way to solve their problems. It all starts at home and I blame the parents. Once again our city services have to clean up their mess.

Do you knoe kelly excuse me. I just want to let you know that these victims are mot the problem how dare you saying that its starts at home. you have no idea and blame me. Don't go there. they did not know who it was so please mind your business. You dont know anything about me or my parenting and I think and what happened that night you dont know. No ones kids are angles do you have kids and besides my son was out around 10 and someone wanted to steal his coat so you saying he deserved that to? so before you open your mouth again and call me a bad parent I will give you a list of people that think otherwise. The problem we got is gangs and they rob people take there phones and money. my son was hurt at 2 trying to help his friend who was hit. my son could of ran away but what, kind of person would he be. that other kid would of died if someone did not step in because no one gets involved.

Let me tell you something Kelly. Brenda is a damn good mother. I have a problem with anyone saying otherwise. You don't know a thing about her. She raised her children right. What they choose to do when they leave is beyond her control..I don't appreciate anyone talking about her that way as you all don't know her personally. Please don't do it.
blame them, not her.

Well let me tell you it was 2 in the morning when it happened. I guess when people come from a bar they should not go out at that time but that is not what happened in this case I am just saying everyone has the right to go out any time they want and they should not expect to be assaulted or comehome from work and followed please people. As far as a good mother you dont know me so you really need to, leave the comments it starts from the home please. You cannot control them when they are adults but he tryed to defend a friend. So you dont know what happened I do so you need to keep your comments to yourself unless you were there. So please people stop the rumors I will tell the truth not like you people love to talk about other people. Anyway I would like to tell the people in malden to be careful walking and use caution before you bump into Kelly. Listen you started it and I am not going to listen to crap from someone that thinks they know what happened. Nobody deserves to be robbed, shot, beaten and afraid to just walk around.

Everybody needs to take a step back here, and focus on the real problem in this city. GANGS, and there are plenty of them operating in this city. As much as the city goverment wants to deny it, they are here, and not going anywhere anytime soon, unfortunately. This current episode at Lincoln Park is full proof of it, as if the past shootings and vioence that has gone on wasn't enough proof. The city officials need to turn their attention for the time being on the current state of this city. I'm sorry. But it does not revolve around a new baseball park, DPW yard, or a new City Hall. How can we welcome in a minor league baseball team if we can't even gurantee the saftey of the residents that live here. The Malden Police Dept. is stretched to it's limits as it is. Just for the record. I am a HUGE sports fan, and think that Malden having a stadium like this is a grat idea. But there are more pressing issues in this city that need to be addressed before that stadium should happen. As far as City Hall? Put new damn roof on the place for now, it's a whole lot cheaper than building a new one right now. As far as the DPW. Rebuild where your at. we already own the land where their at. Just my thoughts.

I agree greg with you. Right now is not the time to build a new city hall. There is alot of gang presence here it seems like to much. I dont know but I am extremly tired and I have been taking my kids to drs working cooking cleaning and all this stuff I have to deal with. I would love to see a nice park believe me but I feel not right now.

You're right Greg. Leave the city hall where it is. As far as opening pleasant street up there's really nothing on pleasant street. It's just going to be another street to speed on. The few people that do go there to shop will never be able to cross the street. A lot of elderly on that street. Only a matter of time before someone gets killed. It's there and we've all gotten used to it. I can barely cross the street to get to the station. Can't even imagine how it would be if pleasant opens up.

can anyone find out if this is a random act or they victims knew their attackers? The victims had any criminal records? we just moved in to this city for couple of years. My wife and I just saved enough money for a new house. We like this city a lot. However, everyone on this site seemed to have problems with the city or the city official.

Don't really see a reason to comment on any criminal history of the victims. Any further information about the arrests or identities will probably wait until arrests are made.
