POLICE LOG: Man Apprehended After Foot Pursuit

Your daily police log for Wednesday, June 13.

A man was arrested following a foot chase with police Wednesday afternoon after neighbors reported two break-ins in a Bryant St. apartment.

Victor Pearson was arrested by Det. Michelet Montina and Capt. John Amirault after allegedly chasing the suspect through area backyards, Lt. Det. Marc Gatcomb said.

No further information on Pearson's age or location was immediately available due to ongoing maintenance with the department's computer system.

“Further investigation revealed he entered two apartments unlawfully by damaging the door frames and took various items, which were recovered,” Gatcomb wrote in an email. “No injuries to report.”

Scanner reports indicated Pearson was apprehended behind a dumpster near 350 Cross St.

No mention of the fireworks being shot off around midnight every night for the last couple of weeks though. :( I'm really getting sick of being woken up. Volleys are coming in the same directions each night too. While I get it that fireworks are a nuisance and not a "real" crime, when they start landing on people's houses, the tune will change.

There's a guy on Garden St towards Lebanon that shoots them off.

The past 3 Fridays and 2 out of the last 3 Saturdays have had fireworks like clockwork between 1:30-3AM. Those come from the Bainbridge/Rockwell area. Actually found the spent case from one of them on the island at the intersection where everybody ignores the stop signs.

Why not file a complaint with the police, and have them check this out and catch the guy(s) in the act? There's a noise ordinance out there that needs to be enforced and it's a public nuisance for someone to be launching those fireworks at those hours, waking neighbors up and disturbing the peace.

I get the same too PHE in 2 directions but no way to pinpoint it. It will get worse untill the fourth of July and then it will go away. My dogs go ballistic when it starts.

Well by the time you call and they get to it they stop. The fireworks I hear are around Acorn and Hancock Claredon and Main Street. But the Police have been doin other more important calls like asaults and battery ..robberies.

Fireworks are illegal in Mass, and depending on how much they have, they could be looking at felony charges. Chasing them down around the 4th would probably be a futile effort by our Police , but at 1am on a Thursday morning, I would be calling and hoping they park on the street for a bit and wait to see or pinpoint where they are coming from......Phe, your right and I wouldnt want them landing on my house! Especially in Maplewood, you know, with no fire station to help us anymore......

Thats true if they land on your house I just lost my front porches from a fire 2 years ago from a discarded cigarette that landed in the gutter. That was in the winter before Christmas. Not Fun.
