Nestled on Medford St. near the Malden River, Bell Rock Cemetery is Malden's oldest burial ground. Here are a few facts about the cemetery:

  • It was established in 1640 in the area known to the earliest settlers as Sandy Bank, the first place settlers settled along the Malden River.
  • The oldest headstone belong to Alice Brackenberry, buried in 1670.
  • Many of Malden's Revolutionary War veterans are buried at the site.
