People do not stop for pedestrians in this crosswalk. It is very frustrating. Even with a stroller, people will fly past me and even swerve into the other lane in order to go around me rather than stop.

Seems it's not safer to be a pedestrian in Boston either. I am both a driver and sometimes a pedestrian. My estimation is that both can be at fault. Although I am sure in this case it might not be. Ever see someone just walk right out in the street? And I am not talking about jaywalking. And I, too, have seen drivers angrily skirt around someone walking who legally has the right of way. Seems today no one is paying attention AND that we are just too pre-occupied and don't care about each other anymore.

Would like to see RED & YELLOW lights at/near all school zones. This way motorists would have to WAIT at the light rather than take the turn on the red light. I would also like to see Walk Light buttons on ALL crossing lights. At MOST lights around this city there are absolutely NO buttons for a pedestrian to press when they want to cross the street. Just NOT sure why this is ? Let's face it ~ it's not safe crossing the street even with the light, but at least you have the light on your side. I walk our fine city as well as drive the local roads. Pedestrians must also have regard for motorists! Some feel that just because they jump off the sidewalk whenever they feel like it the car should stop. The car SHOULD stop, but the pedestrian must realize that in some instances stopping abruptly in some case may put the motorist AND the pedestrian in a bad situation and potentially in harms way. Both must use common sense and CAUTION! I was struck as a teenager myself. In that instance it was my fault. I walked out from in front of a stopped MBTA bus and the motorist just did not see me coming. Luckily I was not hurt. Hope this woman is O.K. Sending prayers her way.

It does'nt matter where you LIVE. Driver's will do what they want'a.do. No City or Town will enforce the LAW. Even if someone is KILLED. We still have some GOOD police officer's . Alot of accidents that have been on T,V, . Nobody at fault. Good Luck Pedestrians.

I think candidate Ted Coates has it right. Build an over pass on every busy street in Malden. It may cost us millions but it's only money. Remember vote for Ted ward 9 candidate this coming August.

I live on Willow St. and the corner of Bryant and Cross is brutal they drive like maniacs. they try to beat the light and then race down to my st. and you would not dare take a chance to walk accross the St. There had been auto accidents as well as people getting hit. Something should be done

Boston is just as bad. I got hit there a few years ago by someone who turned without stopping for their stop sign first. I do think enforcing the law would help a great deal. I've been to other parts of the country where drivers stop for pedestrians in crosswalks.

I live a stone's throw from Bell Rock Park since 1971 and the do speed by that park often. They definatly need caution lights of some kind. Trying to cross at the park is dangerouse so I cross at Bell Rock square

I wish someone knew who is that poor Lady that got hit, I remember seeing a lovely lady who had a cart cashing in bottles at the Liquor Store on Broadway where the old CVS use to be. I feel so bad since this is the only way they can surport themselves. People who drive need to have patience, slow down, stop beeping your darn horns just because the light turns, keep your music down and STAY OFF THE PHONE!!!!!!
