Teen Victim Dies, Another in Serious Condition After Accident
Police said one victim succumbed to her injuries at the scene on Medford Street last night.
Malden Police Lt. Det. Marc Gatcomb said one of two victims was killed on the scene during a horrific car crash on Medford Street last night, with another transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
WBZ News reports that the deceased victim was a 17 year old from Woburn. A second victim was also reportedly from Woburn.
"Upon arrival officers located a single car accident with the vehicle fully engulfed in flames," Gatcomb wrote in an email. "Attempts to rescue a victim in the vehicle were unsuccessful.
"A second victim was located, being attended to by a homeowner and subsequently transported to the hospital with serious injuries ... the matter remains under investigation."

Mom mom woke up to a big crash noise and a female screaming for help, it was the 19 yrs old screaming for help in the middle of the street, my dad called 911 asking for help but someone already had called so we stayed with her waiting for the paramedic to arrive

The car was already on fire, there was nothing we could do to help anymore and that's when the passenger told us the driver was still in the vehicle.

Janice, I'm willing to bet that you and your family sitting tight with the passenger and just being there until the fire & ambulance crews arrived was the most helpful and kind thing anyone could have possibly done. It's such a sad thing to happen, and must have been so frightening for all involved.
