City officials are reaching out to residents after two shootings rocked the city about 12 hours apart this weekend, noting the incidents were not random acts of violence and urging vigilance.
"As a Councilor-At-Large, I want to make Malden residents aware that these situations, and all other public safety matters, are being handled with the utmost urgency," he wrote on his Facebook wall. "I have been in contact with the mayor and Malden Police and am confident that the (Malden Police Department) is doing everything they can to solve this case, other incidents and future crime."
"Let's all work together without compromising ongoing investigations," he said.
Mayor Gary Christenson was also on the scene of another shooting Saturday afternoon, and told reporters that the two shootings were not random in nature.
"Our officers are working diligently on addressing these incidents," he said.
