I hope people stay clear of the roads and take this serious. Some people don't listen to the warnings.

Well, you can bank on the charter school being open unless a State of Emergency is declared by the Governor. Just because they don't close the school is no reason to send your child into a dangerous situation without this declaration. I never did if I thought it was too dangerous and I only live 2 streets over. I did not want them on a school bus to go to the other side of town if there was any chance of a problem with bad roads.

I agree. What is there to prove by being the only school open. Besides with our mild
winter most schools haven't had any snow days.

Guess the safety of the children means squat to them. Hey Kinnon, you sending your kids to school tomorrow? If so maybe parents can hitch a ride with you. What part of stay off the roads did MVRCS miss?

According to latest reports, noon is reasonable. Wish Malden Public did the same -- not looking forward attending those extra days in the hot summer!

This winter wasn't snow heavy and I am assuming this is the only snow day for schools so you should be okay.

Complete lack of respect for the safety of the parents and kids at MVRCS. The State Board of Education should bring them up on charges of child endangerment. More grandstanding by this school to try and prove how good they are. In my eyes, with this decision, they just proved how stupid and ignorant they really are.

Little correction Lynette, one snow day added on to two days from Sandy earlier in the year. We're up to three, and have a way to go before Spring. Again, bad call. Even late into the night, it was clear the snow was starting later in the day. There was no reason to call the whole day. Its too bad Malden Public didn't make it a half-day. Say what you want about Charter, in the end, they made the right call.

No they didn't make the right call at all. Not when the Governor of the State is requesting that all vehicles be off the road by Noon time. When every other school in the State from grammar schools, high schools, to colleges and trade schools etc. close. What are they trying to prove by being the only school open? As I said in my prior post. Complete lack of respect for it's students, parents, and faculty. Grandstanding is all that school cares about.

That is your opinion, you have a right to it. My opinion, bad call. Hopefully, there won't be too many more!

Thank God no lil kid was hit by an automobile then this would have been a whole different story. In a major storm you don't send your child out in harms way. It's STOOOOPID !
