Holyoke Man Charged in 1983 Malden Murder
Shawn Marsh, 46, of Holyoke, faces one count of murder in connection to the shooting death of a Connecticut man at the Town Line Hotel.
State police have arrested a Holyoke man in connection with a Malden motel shooting left unsolved for nearly 30 years.
Shawn Marsh, 46, of Holyoke, was arrested and indicted on a single count of murder, according to a spokeswoman with the Middlesex County District Attorney’s office.
He is accused of shooting Rodney Wyman, then 29, of Simsbury, Connecticut, at the Town Line Motel in 1983.
Authorities said the case was taken up by the state police’s unsolved homicides program, which analyzed fingerprints recovered from the crime scene on databases not yet available during the initial investigation.
Police allege that Marsh and an unidentified accomplice broke into the hotel room with the intention of robbing Marsh and his roommate, and left the fingerprints behind during their attempt to remove items from the room.
He will be arraigned in Middlesex Superior Court in Woburn on Monday, September 19 at 9 a.m.
