Funeral Services This Weekend for Salemwood Student

Josue Eltume, 11, will be honored this Saturday morning.

The family of a Salemwood student who drowned in a Malden pool will be holding funeral services this weekend.

Josue "Josh" Eltume, 11, was going to be in sixth grade at Salemwood School this fall. The beloved student died in an accidental drowning on Wheeler Street last month, prompting numerous emails and comments on our website in support of his family and his memory.

The services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6 at the First Baptist Church on Main Street.

A spokesman has asked that, in lieu of flowers, supporters send donations to Partnership for Community Schools Malden. Checks can be made payable to PCSM/Josh, 238 Highland ave. Malden, MA 02148.
