2. Got chops?: Hugh O'Neill's will hold an open-mic at 8 p.m. Wednesday to give local musicians a chance to showcase their talents.

3. Practice English: A conversational English class will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Malden Public Library. The event, held weekly, helps beginning speakers practice their skills and learn new words.
